Location
and Access
The main entrances are just off Collyhurst Road opposite HMG
Paints, and also on Eggington Street just off Rochdale Road.
Bus numbers 51, 77, 81, 82 and 83 from Manchester City Centre
go up Rochdale Road. Alight by the entrance at Eggington Street,
by St Saviours and Malachys Schools.
There is good wheelchair access from Collyhurst Road, but the
main surface of the central path is cobbled.

Walk across Collyhurst Road and into the New Era Woods site
next to the ship sculpture "Dreadnowt" at HMG Paints.
Alternatively, walk down Hamerton Road onto Sand Street and
check out the views into the City from the "Breaking the
Mould" sculpture.
Recreation
and usage
The site is suitable for short walks and cycling. Public events
such as nest box building and practical conservation work are
