In the autumn of 2005 it was proposed that the existing abandoned vehicles in the woodland should be removed leaving the woodland secure and vehicle free.

Funding was secured in early 2006 from Northwards Housing and also the Crime and Disorder Team to restrict access for motorbikes onto the site, and to extend new fencing across vandalised areas of fencing.

The Irk Valley Project is working with the Friends of Dam Head Park to produce a development plan for Baileys Wood.

A clean up involving groups of students and employees of KPMG was held on 27th February 2007.

Two motorbike barriers were installed at site entrances in the spring of 2007.
